Research On Artistic Expression Of Interest And Charm In Chinese Contemporary Small Freehand Figure Drawings

Interest and charm, as a traditional aesthetic way of Chinese painting,with the development of times, is injected with new meaning and understanding. Thethesis analyzes the aesthetic of interest and charm based on aesthetic theories. It focuseson new artistic spirit, connotation, and skills of expression related on artistic creation..In Chapter1, value of the research is discussed and the framework of the researchis introduced. In Chapter2and3, by theoretical analysis, aesthetic connotation ofinterest and charm of traditional Chinese paintings are analyzed and deconstructed intoartistic conception, taste, and times. In Chapter4, typical styles and characteristics ofpaintings painted by representative contemporary small freehand figures artists arestudied. Effects of changing of times and living environment on arts are also studied.Meanwhile, artistic expression modes of interest and charm in contemporary smallfreehand figures drawings are discussed in several aspects: color management, brushink, frame structure, projection of personal disposition, introduction of spirit of thetimes, etc. Directed by above theories, in Chapter5and6, creation process of theauthor’s small freehand figures drawings are presented, and interest and charm in theseworks are analyzed. Theories and practical experiences are concluded in Chapter7.The thesis digs interest and charm in contemporary small freehand figure drawingsbased on interpretation of their historical background. Meanwhile, through the author’slearning, research and creative practice, charm and aesthetic values of small freehandfigure drawings are revealed.
