In this paper we will use ideas and research results of cognitive theory ofgrammar and syntax and by means of description and explanation, conduct asynchronic and diachronic research into th“e Verb+qi” structure on the basis ofprevious studies.The ifrst chapter introduces the significance of the topic of this article, previousresearch overview of the relevant issues and research methods used in this paper andthe corpus source.In the second chapter we discuss the “Verb,’ from the “Verb+qi,,structure. Atifrst,we examine the number of syllables of the "Verb" and find that the "Verb" in the"Verb+qi" is mainly monosyllabic verb; Secondly, we summairze the semanticcharacteristics of the “Verb” in "Verb+qi". They are related with body, rising, moving,reading, talking, playing, recalling, establish, building and so on.In the third chapter we st"ud“y the meaning of qi,,in Verb+qi" structure. Itmainly includes the trend, the result, the initial, the concern of grammatical meaning.In the fourth chapter we study “Verb+qi” structure and the potential mood"Verb+de/bu+qi". First, we descirbe the semantic characteirstics of verb in"Verb+de/bu+qi" and its grammatical meaning. Secondly, we explore thetransformation mechanism between the two structure. The asymmetry of thetransformation is due to the affection of its structure meaning and components. Finally,we think the asymmetry is also in inteiror of "Verb+de/bu+qi" and make anexplanation of the asymmetry rfom the aspect of semantics, pragmatics, and languagefunctions.In the last chapter we study the grammaticalization process of”Verb+qi"structure. And make an explanation from the syntactic and semantic, two-tone trendand cognitive motivation.
