Analyze The Performance And Musical Style Of The Flute Song "Yearning"

Yearning is one of the outstanding works since the reform and opening up, and it boasts ingenuity and skills in its performance and musical style. It not only represents the integration of modern performance techniques in both northern and southern parts, but also incorporates the music elements of Western flutes, which makes others refresh and pleasant with beautiful melodies and gripping emotional expression.This paper has based on the experience of learning this piece of music, and first introduced the lifetime experience of Mr Qu Xiang, the author of the song, and the creation background of this piece of music. It then started from the performance details of the Yearning and analyzed the ways of playing the music and how to understand the significance each sentence expressed. Finally, it located the the most characteristic display form and musical style in the Yearning to analyze, which helped to understand the characteristics of the works by Mr Qu Xiang more clearly. Meanwhile, it also provided some references and created values for learning the music works of similar styles and offering the innovative ideas to the musical performance.
