In the late1980s, when tourism just began to enter the life of Chinese people as a new life way, Yunnan was the first to develop its tourist songs and dances in China. With the fast development of the west regions and the cultural needs of Chinese people, the developing tourist industry has called for more tourist songs and dances of aesthetic tastes, which took shapes like square style and singing&dancing dinner before the21st century. And now, Yunnan’s rich ethnic cultural resources has stepped into a new era through the spread channel of tourist song and dance; meanwhile, ethnic folk music has also developed fast for the people’s desire for culture-oriented travel.This essay, aiming to research into Yunnan traditional ethnic songs and dances against the background of Chinese social transformation and culture-oriented travel; also, based on the field visit to the scenic spots of Yunnan Minorities’Village in Kunming City and comparisons with traditional ethnic folk songs and dances, is to sum up the market spread of Yunnan traditional ethnic songs and dances in the modern society as well as to conclude all problems cropping up the entire course through the spread channels, art forms and social functions.
