With the trait emotional intelligence(EI) introduced, the buffering and protective effect oftrait EI were considerate by researchers. It has been found that trait EI was as a personality traitwhich could affect the individual information processing, this view was accpeted by manyresearchers. However, undering pressure, the capacity of information processing will beaffected by the pressure of the depth of processing, there are different, with the ability to copewith stress individual can bring better performance, do not have the ability to cope with thepressure will cause the work performance, occupation burnout. With the deepening of the study,researchers gradually pay attention trait EI in pressure affects the individual informationprocessing, this study examines the trait EI on attentional bias and memory bias effect in thepressure through two experiments.The2group (pressure group, control group)×2trait EI (high, low)×3memory bias(positive, neutral, negative) of the hybrid scenario experiment method,60college students of auniversity in Ji’nan were randomly assigned to experimental group and control group, theexperimental group through the experiment materials (Civil Service examination) inducedstress scenarios, control group with general experimental material, and then2groups ofsubjects performed autobiographical recall tasks (including content of memories, potency andpotency evaluation). The experimental results show that, pressure, interaction trait emotionalintelligence and memory bias is significant, and the pressure of circumstances, high trait EI aremore active memory bias, low trait EI are more negative memory bias, while for the controlgroup and the other, there is no significant difference. The experiment indicates, trait emotionalintelligence in pressure influence memory bias has a moderating effect.In order to further study the trait EI in pressure influence of information processing,experiment two used attentional bias, dot probe paradigm test. Experiment two used2groups(pressure group, control group)×2trait EI (high, low)×3attentional bias (positive, neutral,negative) of the hybrid scenario experiment method,60college students were randomlyassigned to the experimental group and the control group, the experimental group and thecontrol group and the experimental conditions the same, then two groups of subjects performeddot probe task (including positive, neutral and negative words in response). The results of experiment2showed that, attentional bias, the interaction between the groups and trait EIsignificantly, further found that the simple effect test, the pressure group, high trait EI onindividual positive emotional vocabulary to react quickly to the neutral words, low trait EI ofthe individual responses to negative words faster than neutral words. However, for the controlgroup, no such results. Experiment two showed attentional bias, trait emotional intelligencealso has a moderating effect on the pressure effect.The two scenario experiments found, trait EI has a moderating effect, can buffer theimpact pressure on information processing (memory bias and attentional bias). Stress scenario,high trait emotional intelligence individual bias in the processing of positive information, lowtrait emotional intelligence individual bias in the processing of negative information. This studydiscusses the trait emotional intelligence is how to adjust the pressure of information processing.Finally, the paper points out the limitations of this study from the subject selection, researchmethods, paradigm and so on, and the future research note, and the related theories arediscussed in the content.
