Vocabulary is a very important part of the Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.Because language is the carrier of culture, and vocabulary is the most flexible part oflanguage, the words from different languages also have many different culturalconnotations. Animal since the ancient times as the friend of mankind is also closelyrelated to people’s life. So this article mainly researches about the animal words whichfrom the textbooks of Chinese as a Foreign Language, in view of the Chinese andEnglish animal words between two different languages there are many interestingcultural differences between contrast researches, in order to help Chinese learners tolearn more Chinese culture to reduce the understanding deviation.This article based on a large number information collection about animal wordsstudy, comprehensive understanding of the topic research present situation and existingproblems, and learned that the thesis on the basis of Chinese as a foreign languageteaching textbooks and research the contrastive study of animal words’ culturalconnotation is very rare,so the writer choose boya Chinese which published by BeijingUniversity Press as an example, in which some animal words as analysis object, mainlyfrom the cultural differences between Chinese and English vocabulary. From themeaning’s identical and discrepancy, lexical structures of similar and dissimilar tothese aspects, and in consideration of classroom teaching Chinese as a foreign languageneed for detailed comparison and analysis, and put forward reasonable suggestions toteaching target, curriculum design theory, folk culture theory, philology theory andcross-cultural communication theory as the foundation, at the same time, Chinesecultural meaning of animal words in order to achieve the teaching goal and culturecommunication. Through this contrast research Chinese learners can understand moreChinese traditional custom, related idioms, and also improved their Chinese level.
