"Er Pai" Tone Adverb Research

The "Er Pai" is made by the Ming Dynasty writer Ling Mengchu. Due to thenovel audience most are poorly educated class people, its creation is approximately theplain spoken, so "Er Pai" basically reflects the late Ming linguistic situation, has a highvalue of the corpus. The academic circles in the Ming Dynasty adverbs synchronicresearch is still weak, so we select "Er Pai" as a corpus to study the late Ming modaladverb, using statistical and qualitative analysis, strive to be a system of modal adverb.Full text is divided into six chapters.Introduction section discusses the current academic broadly on the "Er Pai" ofresearch and research results about adverbs. Describes the classification of each pair ofadverbs, and stated its "Er Pai" adverbs classification standards.The first chapter and the second chapter will divided the162mood adverbs of "Erpai" into six categories. The tone adverbs of the "Er pai" will be exhaustiveinvestigation, and use statistics and qualitative analysis for each modal adverb, and thentry to restore the Ming Dynasty adverbs of the system.The third chapter will analyze syntactic features of "Er Pai" modality adverbs,combined with the "Er pai" adverbs examples, summed up the mood adverb mainly"subject+adverb+verb" and "adverb+subject+predicate" two position in the sentence.Secondly, explore the reason of the adverb in the sentence position why is fixed. Pointsout that the modal adverbs subjectivity is the main reason of the adverb in the sentencefirst.The fourth chapter analyses point to the semantics of the "Er pai" modality adverbs.Combined with the specific examples in the "Er Pai", semantic orientation classificationwill be discussion. And then analyses the semantic direction of the modal adverbs andthe relationship with the sentence focus, explore the sentence focus how to effects onthe modal adverbs semantic direction.The fifth chapter will discussed the pragmatic of "Er Pai" modal adverbs.
