Analysis Of Character Expression In Chinese Contemporary Oil Painting Art

Expression is a kind of medium to transfer information, which carries abundant of feeling, emotions and even mental activities. In Chinese contemporary oil painting art, the expressions also reveal the conceptual communication and spirit by artists. This work is focused on the analyzing the aesthetic form of expression, the exploration of the story in the work and the interpretation of spiritual appearance under different expressions by studying the character expressions in Chinese contemporary oil painting art. Meanwhile, it has provided a view from the point of expression character for audience to appreciate and analyze the work. The works from1976until now are used to analyze the different people’s expression. Combined with era that it was created, the relative references, video and the visit to artist, it presented the author’s own viewpoint on the people’s expression and its meaning in the painting.Three parts are included in this article. The first part is the analysis of character’s expression in Chinese contemporary oil painting art, which elaborated the relationship between character’s expression and era, and relationship between the change of people in the society and the performance of personal view from the artist. The second part is firstly to interpret the expression as feelings and emotions under the literary context that could be enhanced by painting the character’s expression. It makes people feel like reading a novel, prose, or poetry. Then it comes to the idea of in the character’s expression. With the development of era, huge changes happen in daily life, which could also be reflected by the character’s expression in the painting. There are changes in every place and every class in Chinese society, which makes it difficult for people to adapt, expressed in a loss, melancholy and depression in the paintings. Besides the integrity, personal spirit in the character was presented mainly as the painters themselves directly or indirectly, which needs to be understood combined with the background of the painter, as well as creation environment. The third part is to analyze the aesthetic form of character in the paintings, various expressions in addition to changes in external form, also have all aspects to the world, society and people’s attention, and from outside to inside of the points discussed in this paper.
