From the view of the intellectuals whose activities are in the club of the Mukden YMCA thedissertation analyzes and narrates the Mukden YMCA had activities,effects,and status in the NewCultural Movement and revolutions in Mukden,and show the related historical images in the vasterfield of view and in the longer time frame.The dissertation includes6parts. The first chapter title is the YMCA in the WesternizationChina. The chapter introduces the establishment and development of the YMCA in the UK,and itsinnovation in the USA,and that how it spread from the USA to China,and that how it had relationswith the New Cultural Movement and revolutions.The second chapter title is the establishment of theMukden YMCA,1911-1914. The chapter introduces the environment and process of theestablishment of the Mukden YMCA,and that many revolutionary party members like Ningwu andXiao Shujun had important effect on the process.The third chapter title is the Mukden YMCA and theorigin of the New Cultural Movement in Mukden,1914-1919. The chapter introduces the socialservice of the Mukden YMCA facilitated the origin of the public sphere and the New CulturalMovement in Mukden. But in Mukden Shengjing Times took the lead in the process of reporting andpromoting the New Cultural Movement.The forth chapter title is the Mukden YMCA and theintroduction of the New Cultural Movement in Mukden,1919-1922. The chapter introduces thebackground and the channels of which the New Cultural Movement introducted into Mukden. Amongthe channels in Mukden,educational circle,newspapers and periodicals played the most importantrole,and the Mukden YMCA had a special role to play. But then in Mukden conservative forces wasstrong very much,and the New Cultural Movement had a lttle effect only.The fifth chapter title is theMukden YMCA,revolutionary activities of CCP and KMT members and the rise of the NewCultural Movement in Mukden,1922--1925. The chapter introduces because of changes of foreignand domestic policies of Zhang Zuolin,especially consolidation of triple alliance,KMT membersestablished several societies and their proceedings in the Mukden YMCA,and openly spread theThree People’s Principles and new culture,which attracted educated youths and students,andpromoted them to establish many societies and spread Marxism,and establish its initiative studygroup. The CCP members seized the chance to launch revolutionary propaganda and activities. TheDaode Yanjiuhui was established,and the object,way and tenet of its seivce contrasted finely withthe Mukden YMCA. Last conclusion states both competition and dialogue is among the MukdenYMCA,the New Cultural Movement and the revolutions,as outcome in modern society.
