In recent years, exploring the values of the Fu and Inscription in Han Dynastyfrom the cultural aspects has become a kind of new thought in the literature research.The research object of this thesis is the Fu and Inscription of Li You, a scholar in theEastern Han Dynasty. This thesis tries to study the link between Li You’s works andthe architecture system in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and to correctly understand theposition of Li You’s Fu and Inscription in the classical literature and culture,meanwhile to explore its artistic significance and historical value from them.This thesis will be divided into three chapters:Chapter one, analyze the construction planning of the capital, Luoyang, and thelayout of the imperial city in Luoyang during the Eastern Han Dynasty. Firstly, thischapter will to study the relationship between the Han-gu Pass and the reason whyLuoyang was chosen as the capital. And then to discuss the layout idea of the citygates and understand its cultural connotation of Luoyang in the Eastern Han Dynastyvia the Inscription for City Gates written by Li You. Lastly, to comb the layoutsituation of the palace both the south and north imperial city and the inside andoutside of the Luoyang city.Chapter two, analyze the basic structure, building decoration and constructionconcept of the single palace in Luoyang. Assisting by the historical documents,archaeological research, architectonics and other related materials, this chapter willdemonstrate the historical value of the works written by Li You and discuss the deepcultural connotation of the palace architecture, so that the position and influence ofthe Eastern Han Dynasty buildings in history will sink in.Chapter three, take the Pingle View as an example to investigate the change of itsrole and the migration of the hunting places in the Han Dynasty, and to probe the tightconnection between the Pingle and the military hunting in the Han Dynasty.Finally, the last part focuses on the writing characteristics of Li You’s works, thatcan help us to get more in-depth understanding of the Fu and Inscription in the HanDynasty.
