The Chuang Tzu is one of the classic works of Taoism,itsworldview,philosophy,and epistemology have a great impact on the posterity,Chinese literature and philosophy are also deeply affected by it. Lu Hsun’sThe Diaryof Madman was created at the moment of the national crisis, the spirit-satisfiedmethod exposes and criticizes people’s mental illness to wake up people. However,some scholars began to do a comparative study between Chuang Tzu’s thought and AhQ’s spirit-satisfied method since the1960s. They criticized Chuang Tzu ’s thought asAh Q’s spirit-satisfied method,as a result, Chuang Tzu’s thought was been misreadedby many people. This paper tries to base on the texts of Chuang Tzu and The Diary ofMadman, it will focus on compare the important conception of Chuang Tzu’s thoughtwith Ah Q’s spirit-satisfied method,and according to investigate both the originbackground and the impact of future generations to analysis the difference of theinherent nature in two, eventually we can restore the profound meaning of ChuangTzu ’s thought.This paper consists of three chapters:Chapter one mainly analyzes and compares the Origin background of ChuangTzu ’s thought and Ah Q’s spirit-satisfied method. This part nvestigates three aspects,namely social, ideological, and culture. Chuang Tzu lived in the axial period of thephilosophers contending, thought is very free in that atmosphere. The ideologicalroots of Chuang Tzu’s was the romantic and colorful culture of Chu;On the contrary,Ah Q lived in the end of qing dynasty,there are internal revolt and foreign invasion inthis era. Ah Q’s spirit-satisfied method comes from nearly five thousand years ofChinese history accumulation,it is subject to a double twist of time and civilization.Chapter two focus on distinguish and compare the similar concept of ChuangTzu ’s thought with Ah Q’s spirit-satisfied method.This chapter is the most importantpart of this paper, it uses discrimination and inductive method to detailedly analyzes“amnesia and forgetfulness”,“desireless and desire”,“dying with joy and ignoring thedeath”;“criticismandrevolution”,“variation and random variation”,profoundly und-standing the core meaning of Chuang Tzu ’s thought, pointing out the intrinsicdifference between the two.Chapter three discusses the impaction of chuangTzu ’s thought with Ah Q’sspirit-satisfied method. Chuang Tzu ’s thought provides a spiritual home for us, itsphilosophy of “peripateticism and casualness”,“inaction and aloofness”and “letingthings take their own course” opens people’s state of mind. Ah Q’sspirit-satisfied method is a Kind of apathetic attitude to society, it Shows the nationalevil and plays the role in waking up the posterity.
