With the increasingly deepening reform and opening up, increasingly economicdevelopment, expanding influence, along with our country the implementation of the strategyof Chinese culture’s “going out”, China’s publicity-oriented C/E translation has made greatachievements. But some foreign media, especially the western developed countries,publicized our country by means of media, which resulted in foreigner’s misunderstandings,distorting and even discriminating against our country. Western media hypes China,"Chinesemilitary threat","Chinese economic threat theory","Chinese political threat theory","Chineseresource energy threat theory","Chinese ecological environment threat theory", Chinese softpower threat theory","Chinese responsibility theory","Chinese colonial theory" and so on.These problems has seriously affected the international image of the country, which is amisreading and distorting of China’s international image. The principal causes of thisphenomenon are that the Chinese language, culture and history are not understood bywesterners. So, comprehensive and objective introduction of China to the world is a long,difficult and challenging job. The role of translation is increasingly highlighted.Although our country has some of the achievements in heralded translation, reform andopening-up of our country and publicity-oriented C/E translation has played a huge role, buton the whole and the requirements of modern society there is a considerable gap.Huang ever points out that publicity-oriented C/E translation plays an important role andinfluence in promoting social progress and improving the national image, however, It has notbeen due attention and concern for the society, also lack of scientific understanding ofpublicity-oriented translation work in characteristics, lack of carrying on the scientific andeffective organization and management and lack of a high quality talent translation team andprofessional translators who can bear the increasing cultural exchanges.(黄友义,2008:93)Therefore, the problems of publicity-oriented C/E translation stand out. Translation errorsare everywhere. It completely can not reach the effect of external publicity; some evenseriously do damages to China’s national image. In some window industry and public placessuch as hotels, museums, tourist attractions, restaurants, non-standard translations or evenfalse propaganda materials can be seen everywhere, which seriously impacts on the city andthe national image. Non-standard foreign language translation is also greatly shocking such asthe government work report, the white paper, external publicity, publicity brochures,convention and exhibition information and posters in the public signs translation.This article commit studies and analysis on translation errors, clarify the standards andpoints out the characteristics of publicity-oriented C/E translation from the perspective of translation theory of the adaptive selection. The cause of the translation errors analysis will beprobed into under the guidance of the theory in order to guide the translation practice.(Thetheory is that:"translation is the translator-centered; translation is the “adaptation” of thetranslator as the typical elements to the ecological environment and the "choice" in thetranslation of the translator for typical elements.)...
