With China's economic development and its increasingly frequent interaction with other countries around the world, the government press conference gradually becomes a platform for China's foreign publicity. The government press conference has political and diplomatic functions with the content about national policies. The interpretation of government press conference can help other countries get more information about China and influence China's national image and the environment of international public opinions.Hence when it comes to the government press conference, proper application of Chinese-English interpretation strategies contributes to the enhancement of the interpretation quality of this kind of foreign publicity and the transmission of China's voice. The paper investigates the interpreters' performances in C-E interpretation at the state-level government press conference in 2016,taking Translation as Adaption and Selection Theory as an instrumental and theoretical basis.Translation as Adaption and Selection is the core of Eco-translatology.Eco-translatology is a new transdisciplinary theory which is related to translatology as well as ecology. The Adaption and Selection Theory of Darwinian Evolution serves as the theoretical background of Eco-translatology.The focus of Eco-translatology's application research is the transformation of three dimensions which include linguistic dimension, cultural dimension and communicative dimension. In addition, this thesis also applies the theory of Western Rhetorical Audience to analyze the theory of Translation as Adaption and Selection. The paper analyzes the interpreters' adaption and selection in translational eco-environment and this thesis aims to contribute to the extension of the application of Eco-tanslatology and the expanding of the range of the interpretation study.
