Foreign-oriented publicity translation is of great significance for the development of international relations. As the largest developing country in the world, China is attracting the attention of the world, which greatly promotes the rapid development of her international publicity. However, many problems arose at the same time, some even causing the foreigners' misunderstanding of China. The thesis is a study of foreign-oriented publicity translation with an analysis of the problems in China international publicity by applying reception aesthetics and offers some suggestions to the translator on the basis of this theory. Foreign-oriented publicity translation materials used in this thesis are mainly quoted from TV news translations, tourism translations and translations of corporation promotional materials.The thesis consists of following parts, respectively about general description of translation of the foreign-oriented publicity materials, a review of literatures in integration of reception aesthetics into translation for publicity, reception aesthetics and the viewpoints of its representatives, problems in the translation for foreign-oriented publicity materials, and some suggestions for translators engaged in the translation for foreign-oriented publicity materials from the perspective of reception aesthetics.Of course, we know that these suggestions are not solutions to all the translation of foreign-oriented publicity materials. Our ultimate objective is to shed light on the way forward.
