Object:The study aimed to investigate whether dysphonic individuals show biasfor negative material which are placed upright and inverted.Methods:The study individually utilize emotional pictures and words fromInternational Affective Picture System(IAPS)and the Chinese affective words categorize system used in research of emotional disorder established by ShujingXu and Daxing Wu(2008),the study involve12normal participants and dysphoric individuals,who are filter out from some colleges with Beck Depressed Inventory(BDI) and the Center Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale(CES-D).This study is consisted of2parts, part1is eyes tracking experiment on presented emotional words, part2is on emotional pictures.By comparing the fixationtime, on the disparate emotional materials presented in different ways,of normal individuals and dysphoric individuals to discuss the attention biases to emontional materials.Result:1.In the circumstance of emotional materials which are divided into three formsof valence (positive ones, negative ones and neutral ones) are presented upright, whenthey are presented at a given time, it shows that dysphonic individuals’ fixation timeon negative emotional materials is significantly longer than on the other two.Meanwhile,normal individuals’ fixation time on positive emotional materials issignificantly longer than on the other two.2.It shows that fixation time of the participants in the two groups on them showsno significantly discrepancies in the circumstance of emotional materials are inverted.Conclusions:1.When the emotional materials, including pictures and words, are presentedupright,participants in dysphonic group show attentional biases on maintaining thenegative information. Meanwhile, participants in normal group shows attentionalbiases on maintaining the positive information.2.When the emotional materials are inverted, participants in normal group and ones in dysphonic group show no attentional biases.
