According to the research of the archaeology, We have a wide variety of theantiques of lions-based. And with the development of the tombs of the ancient systemin China the stone sculptures in the burial buildings have a better development. So thearts of stone lions keeping on development. This paper focus on the evolution of thestone lions in the mausoleum buildings and take preliminary study. The lion imagewas introduced into China in the Han dynasty. As the same time, the ancients put thestone caving in front of the tomb. By the research we found in the Eastern Handynasty the stone lions-based carve with wings. In the Northern and Southerndynasties, began to appear two stone lions-based carve in front of the tomb. With thebooming of the Buddist art in Tang dynasty the stone lions were began to sit in thefoundation. Because the mausoleum of the Song dynasty are protect well, so thispaper could according the method of the archaeology division the stone lions-basedcarve (Jiaoduan) in four stage. And summarize the stone lion in the mausoleum of theSong dynasty.
