This paper is a report based on the translation of the selected chapters of Stories I OnlyTell My Friends: An Autobiography. This book is an autobiography written by the famousAmerican actor Rob Lowe. The author has completed the translation of chapters12-13, andfinished this report accordingly.In Stories I Only Tell My Friends: An Autobiography, Rob Lowe described hischildhood and his experience of being an actor. Besides, he recalled many friends he hadmade in his daily life and work, giving the public a more clear and vivid figure of himself.The story of Rob Lowe gives the public great encouragement and inspiration.This report includes five chapters. Chapter One is the translation project description,including the background, target and significance. Chapter Two is text analysis, introducingthe general introduction of the famous star and plots of the text. Chapter Three is difficultiesin translation and translation methods, including the preparation before translating and thetranslation process. Guided by the Text Type Theory of Katharina Reiss, the author usestranslation methods as supplementation translation, omission translation and so forth in thetranslation process. Chapter Four gives a set of case studies with multiple translation methods.Chapter Five is the experience gained from translation process and the unsolved issues.
