Culture Teaching Methods On The Basis Of Film And Television Appreciation In Listening And Speaking Course In TCFL

The main purpose of listening and speaking course in teaching Chinese as a foreign language istraining and heightening students’ practical ability of using Chinese and making interculturalcommunication. Nowadays, culture, as an indispensable part in listening and speaking course, is becomingmore and more important. Film and television appreciation because of its intuitive, true, rich andentertaining features, are in Chinese teachers’ good graces and increasingly applied to the classroominstruction in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.This paper uses film and television as breakthrough point and talks about trying to make it as a kind ofcultural teaching method. In practical application, the crux of this course is material, which should beobjective and moderately difficult. Some lively works can be readily understood by students. Meanwhile,each teaching link is also very important. Teachers should reasonably arrange all aspects in the curriculumand fully consider the various stages of students’ learning ability. Concerned with vocabulary teaching inlistening and speaking, teachers also should focus on the analysis and discussion about cultural terms inlanguage, folk custom, communication, etc.This paper is going to combine the film and television appreciation with listening and speaking coursein teaching Chinese as a foreign language, which aims to provide help and reference for systematicteaching of this discipline and its culture teaching mode.
