An aesthetic concept reacts a period of mainstream aesthetic orientation and each period has differentaesthetic ones. Aesthetic concept reflects not only a period of political, economic, cultural, social life onmany aspects etc, but also the aesthetic purport of the mainstream culture in this period.Since the founding of New China to the held of The Third Plenary Session of the11th CentralCommittee, the aesthetic concept of political monism had always been the theme of social life, whichconverted until the implement of reform and opening policies. The time from1978to now can be called adefinition of the new era. During this period, political high-pressure thaw had made aesthetic conceptgradually gotten rid of the control of monism and tended to diversification.With the establishment and improvement of the socialist market economy system, western culture,Hong Kong and Taiwan culture, traditional culture had influenced and interpenetrated each other, forming avariety of cultural combination and common prosperity. Aesthetic concept had also been a fundamentalchange in our country, which changing not only from monism to diversification, but including the transitionfrom elite to mass, from text to visual. Mass consumption society gradually formed in the large andmedium-sized cities and spread to other regions so that consumption culture had gradually become thedominant culture. The formation of mass consumption society was influenced by mass media. Aestheticconcept presented new characteristics oriented by mass media especially the emerging of the new we media,such as visualization aesthetic and body aesthetic.Visualization aesthetic and body aesthetic pulled the development of economic industry and graduallyformed the related industry chain. Visualization aesthetic and body aesthetic occurred with the vigorousdevelopment of electronic science and technology, when the electronic equipment and electronic toolsrenewal speed was faster and faster, which led the transformation of new media and influenced theevolvement of aesthetic concept. The progress of science and technology made the visualization aestheticand body aesthetic gradually become the main aesthetic paradigm, at the same time, it led to a typical crisisof this era under the coming of the consumption era. Mass consumption society meant some kind ofliberation, so the enjoyment,recreation,entertainment became the characteristics of citizen life, whichpeople continuously consumed to satisfy their own desires.Citizen life entertainment tended to be more and more obvious. However, the aesthetic crisiswould inevitably form under the excessive entertainment. Excessive entertainmentwas embedded in entertainment tabloidization and entertainment homogenization etc., which would be a negative impact on the aesthetic. On the one hand, the progress of science and technology had broughtabout the formation of the network era. Network era fitting with the mass consumption society madepeople’s life more convenient; on the other hand, it also led to the reading and writing crisis, copyrightcrisis. These crises restricted the development of individuation and original ability of cultural industry.The study of aesthetic concept in the new era does good to research the changes of aesthetic field andthe development of aesthetic culture for over recent30years in this period. In the mean time aestheticdevelopment also can promote the development of cultural industry and advance the socialist harmonioussociety construction.
