Study Of Chen Chun’s Neo-Confucianism

Chen Chun as the Zhu xi’s student in his later years is the research object of this paper. Chen Chun’s Neo-Confucianism can be roughly divided into three stages of development:the first phase is Zhangzhou period. At this point he abandoned the early learning aim of imperial examinations. When learned with Zhu Xi, he began to think of the problems of universe ontology. The second phase is Kaoting period. He turned on to deepen and refine the previous stage of his early Neo-Confucianism. In this time, he emphasized on the way to be an erudite in accordance with his teacher. The second phase is Yanling lecture period. On one hand, Chen Chun spread out Zhu Xi theory through lectures, on the other hand he express their views systematically.The article consists of introduction, the main text and conclusion.Combining the environment of Chen Chun’s time, the introduction briefly describes Chen Chun’s life experience and academic background, and then points out its social and historical reasons and roots Besides, it also gives the current research status of Chen Chun’s thought through the literature review part, which then leads to the reason and method of the article.The first part discusses the Chen Chun’s ontological cosmology ideas mainly from two angles:Tai Chi and Tao, Li and Qi. His "Li-Qi" structure of the Universe contains both "Li Yi Fenshu" cosmic static structure and the concept of "Li-qi" Relationship of Zhu Xi. In this universe,"Li" as the order of the core areas of the universe ontological can descript Tai Chi and Tao, and the ontological interpretation Cheng Kai humanity and Wuchang.The second part focuses on the Chen Chun’s mind and erudite effort. Chen Chun first pointed out the inherent ontological outline and effort, which is refined and inherited Zhu Xi. He point out the view of "Nature of Qi" and "Nature and emotion", as well as the "Restraint and erudition". Then pointed out his own theory of turning that focus on under-based learning which Scientia-Morality is as a joint effort processes.The third part describes the main ideas of ideal personality value expectations in Chen Chun’s Neo-Confucianism. He pointed out that "the man with benevolence" is the example of daily life which consisted of the ultimate source of value. The benevolent man can not only locate his life in the world with the cosmological vision of, but also enhance the personality self-achievement sages in contemporary life consciously by board scientia and Moral training.In the last part, the article summarizes the idea of Chen Chun’s Neo-Confucianism, then describes his historical influence and significance briefly.
