The Study Of Sorcery Color In TanDun’s Music

TanDun is one of the most typical composers in contemporary China. His music combines the two effect of the original thinking consciousness and pioneer awareness. TanDun’s creative style from traditional and trend to modern technique. When he carries out experiments,he doesn’t cut the connection with "Chu" culture of HuNan. The modern Shaman thoughts has effect on his creative thinking. So TanDun’s music has some sorcery color. This thesis is mainly research the witchcraft culture of TanDun’s music and from specific works perspective to research the sorcery color.This thesis is consist of preface,three chapters and end. The preface is mainly discuss this thesis’s significance and research status. According to the material, it mostly divide to three departs:first of all is criticism paper,secondly is mainly analyzing the music itself, the third one is conclude type of paper.The thesis is consist of three chapters. The first chapter introduces Tan Dun’s life and creative stage; summarizes his creative style, and at the same time analyzes his creative ideas. The second chapter describes the origin, development of voodoo culture, meanwhile studies both typical Shaman and Nuo culture’s impact on Tan Dun’s music. The third chapter explains his tendency of witch music from specific works. It selected four representative work’On Taoism’’Nine Songs’’Ghost Opera’’Map’to analysis the sorcery culture impact which Tan Dun received by discussing creative ideas and music ontology shows in them.The reason why this thesis selects sorcery color to study Tan Dun’s music are that for one respect is to research the trait of TanDun’s music and for another is combine the specific works for research better. What’s more, this unique form of music shined on the world stage. Sorcery which began to emerge from primitive society, experienced its prosperous in slavery society and then spurned by the people, integrates into our lives as a legitimate artistic elements. It has to admit that this is a " re-enchantment." As a matter of fact, Witchcraft music is never far away from us. On the contrary, it is now increasingly clear nowadays. By studying of Tan Dun’s music witchcraft color,we can grasp the development direction of Chinese music better.
