Pivot Mansion Porcelain’s Archaeological Research

The objectives of this research are pivot mansion porcelain at Yuan Dynasty. Pivot mansion porcelain, as the new style based on blue and white porcelain in Jingdezhen during Yuan Dynasty, is one of the most representative products in Jingdezhen.But there are some problems with academic understanding of pivot mansion porcelain at the present archeology society and further research on newly unearthed archeological objects is needed.First, pivot mansion porcelain, which was excavated in archaeological sites, can be used to redefine the research topic and research value. Therefore, according to archaeological typology to the fine and crude pivot mansion porcelain, it comes to the summary of evolution and development of the porcelain. The final points focus on the characteristics of pivot mansion porcelain, the institutional systems, and relevant discussion of religious patterns. The research dissertation consists of five parts.Chapterl Introduction. The paper will introduce the origin and significance of the paper topic, summarize the unearthed situation of pivot mansion porcelain as well as its research progress, and then outline research methods and purpose.Chapter2Identification, denomination and classification of pivot mansion porcelain. Combining historical documents and archaeological discoveries, it is possible to discuss and unify the features of pivot mansion porcelain. The naming system of pivot mansion porcelain can be unified through analyzing its name origin and limitation and through combining research on naming of printing porcelain in the past along with naming convention from historical documents and archaeological objects.Chapter3Typology research of pivot mansion porcelain. Knowing the classification of fine and crude pivot mansion porcelain, the separate typology research on fine and crude porcelain will give us their different evolution patterns. And according to this typology research, the production of pivot mansion porcelain is divided into three phases, which generated different types and age diagrams.Chapter4Discussion of the relevant issues. After the systemic and archaeological observation and discussion, issues regarding to nature of pivot mansion porcelain, its rules of government usage and religious patterns on it will be discussed.Chapter5Conclusion. Summarize the research and point out the problems of the article.
