As Chinese earliest collections of poems and one of the Confucian classics, The Book of Songs has been a history for more than two thousand years. It h ad an influence on countless literati of ancient and modern, Chinese and foreig n for a long time, because it has rich connotation and unique literary glamour. Meanwhile, it is a wonderful flower in the garden of the world thoughts and literature.The Book of Songs has been introduced into Korea which is a friendly neig hbor of China long before, and it deeply affected the thoughts and literary cre ation of ancient Korean literati. Ding Ruoyong who was an outstanding Korean thinker of the Practical Learning School and poet in the later period of Joseo n Dynasty. He studied The Book of Songs and other Confucian classics since h e was a child, and he had a deep understanding of The Book of Songs. Due t o long-term study of The Book of Songs, Ding Ruoyong’s unique view of The Book of Songs was formed and the essence of The Book of Songs had been t ransfused into his Chinese poetry creation.This paper mainly discusses Ding Ruoyong’s acceptance of The Book of Son gs according to Ding Ruoyong’s view of The Book of Songs and Chinese poet ry creation. Ding Ruoyong’s view of The Book of Songs, that is to say, Ding Ruoyong’s opinions about The Book of Songs, which is established on the basi s of long-term study of Confucian classics such as The Book of Songs. The an alysis of Ding Ruoyong’s view of The Book of Songs contributes to further un derstanding of Ding Ruoyong’s literary thoughts. Besides, the analysis of Ding’ s poetic works can point out the influence of The Book of Songs on Ding Ru oyong’s Chinese poetry creation.Ding Ruoyong was one of the representative poets in the later period of Jos eon Dynasty. His Chinese poetry works that have rich content and profound th oughts reflected the real society between the later18century and the early19century, which has a very high literary value and social historical value. Ding Ruoyong’s Chinese poetry creation is one of the important compositions of hi s Practical Learning, so we can get a glimpse into the ideological connotations of Ding Ruoyong’s Practical Learning by means of conducting a research on Ding Ruoyong’s acceptance of The Book of Songs.This paper not only investigates Ding Ruoyong’s Chinese poetry creation h ow to accept the form and spirit of The Book of Songs, but also clarifies how Ding Ruoyong break the shackles of The Book of Songs to make some chang es and pointed out the significance of these changes. The study of Ding Ruoy ong’s acceptance of The Book of Songs makes us deeply appreciate the unique literary value and social value within Ding Ruoyong’s literary thoughts and C hinese poetry creation. Besides, it also helps us understand the relationship bet ween Chinese Literature and Korean Literature thoroughly.
