The Study On Comparison Of Chinese And English Sense Organs Vocabulary

Sense organs include eyes, nose, mouth, ears and so on. With sense organs, humanreceive and respond to information from the world. In this way, sense organs play animportant role in people’s communication. Due to its importance, sense organs havebecome basic words in language system. Sense organ words have a huge vocabularysystem. On one hand, it includes words such as "眼(eye)","鼻(nose)","口(mouth)","耳(ear)", on the other hand, it also includes words and expressions containing senseorgan words, which is of large quantity and with rich implications. No matter inChinese or in English, sense organs vocabulary is basic vocabulary. It is usedfrequently and widely.This thesis studies on the word groups centered in "眼(eye)","鼻(nose)","口(mouth)","耳(ear)". Based on the modern vocabulary learning theory, it will make adetailed description of Chinese and English sense organ vocabulary system. Then thebasic meanings and combination of words will be discussed and analyzed. Finally itwill explain the differences in view of culture. The purpose is to identify thesimilarities and differences in Chinese and English "sense organs words " in systemstructure, semantic content, combinations and culture, etc., which will revealsimilarities and personalities in the same kind of words but different languages, enrichChinese and English vocabulary research, and provide a theoretical basis and case textfor foreign language teaching and English translation.
