The Tenderness And Lionhearted Sentiments Under Flourishing Period-A Study On Gaoshi’s Farewell Poems

Tang Dynasty was a great era. There have been many great poets, but in this Golden Age, only the poet named Gao Shi fulfilled the dreams of all the poets who want to be conferred with the marquis. He became the only one "general Poet" during Tang Dynasty. Gao is not only a distinguished poet, but also an outstanding statesman and strategist, or a true Golden Age heroes. Farewell poem is one of the most popular poetry themes in Tang Dynasty. The creation of the theme had reached its peak in Tang Dynasty. The poets written by Gao have large quantity, high quality and have high ideological level and artistic value. Since Gao was under a good background of Flourishing Tang Dynasty and he himself was good at making friends, he had good advantage of creating poets. Thus he reached his great peaks:from Kaiyuan period twenty years (AD732) to the Kaiyuan twenty eight years (AD740years), from the period of Tempo III contains (AD744) to the Tempo or five (AD746) and the period around Tempo XI contains (AD752years).This article focuses on the classification research of GAO’s farewell poem. Gao is the hero of poets during flourishing period. He had both tender character and lofty sentiment of a poet. According to the emotion which was expressed by Gao, the writer classified the poets into two types:The farewell with lionhearted sentiment and the farewell with earnest tenderness. His lionhearted sentiment in his poem was reflected by farewell under the earnest persuasion and the farewell with free and easy. His tenderness in his poem was reflected by his reluctant to part and the farewell after suffering unfair status. The reasons to farewell have been stated directly in the poets and some of them can also be inferred. According to the reasons, the writer classified the farewell poets into the following types:See friends off frontier fortress, farewell to friends to go to their posts, see friends off to relegate, farewell to friends after failing in exam and farewell to friends who would live in seclusion. The three reasons to farewell have close relation to the sense of apart. For example, under the situation of seeing friends off to frontier, to go to their posts, to relegate and farewell friends to live in seclusion in the mountain, the way of expressing sentiment are extremely similar. They both focus on the farewell of persuasion and long separation. While, under the situation to see friends off to the mountain, the types of sentiment in the poets are reluctant separation and long time separation. The poet who belongs to farewell friends to live seclusion can either reflect true feelings by reluctant separation or appreciations by long time separation. No matter for which reason, these ways of expressing can have good effect on the poets. Seeing friends off the frontier, going to their post, seeing friends off to relegate and seeing friends off to live in seclusion always reflected the writer’s lofty sentiments. Seeing friends off to live in seclusion always both reflected the writer’s tenderness and lofty sentiment.Finally, this paper discusses the ideological content and artistic qualities in the farewell poem written by Gao. Gao was a poet who had a great heroic dream to save people in the world. His strong ideology was reflected completely in his farewell poems. The ideological connotations in Gao’s poem was deeply affected by the background of the era. Under the flourishing Tang Dynasty, this poem reflected his persistent pursuit of fame and yearning for hermitage in forest. Under Tang Dynasty in decline, his poet reflected underappreciated anger and criticism ills with outspoken. The high artistic qualities of the farewell poem on the performance of the overall style of poetry can be summarized as:natural and smooth, funky upright, deep tragic, bold forceful. High proper farewell poem on the genre of choice and preference can be summarized as follows, covering all the styles. Preferring to five characters, poetry, and verses with equal shares; All the poets are in the high grade even though with little regulated verse. The farewell poets were mainly written in narrative expression and the expression under description of scenery. No matter is straight from the heart or expressing emotion by describing scenery, the farewell lyric poem can be clearly demonstrated tenderness and lofty sentiment.
