Su Zhe's Farewell Poems Study

The farewell poem,which includes poems that poets send to others in all kinds of parting occasions and ones that others send to poets,is a poetry that poets often use to express parting grief.Farewell poetry runs through the life of Su Zhe,a very famous litterateur in Northern Song Dynasty,which can reflect important significance embodied in farewell poems combining with his life experience.Farewell poems of Su Zhe are taken as a research object,focusing on the thoughts,emotions and artistic features in theses poems.Starting from the origin of farewell poems,this paper summarizes its development status,and divides the Northern Song Dynasty farewell poems into group and personal farewell poems.Farewell poems in this period were more narrative and rational compared with previous generations.Most of Su Zhe's farewell poemsbelongs to private farewell poems,which can be divided into official farewell poems and friend farewell poems.His poems mainly inherited heavy feeling and diversity of content from traditional farewell poems,and these poems are characterized by directly expressing one's mind,being in harmony with scenery and often using willow,wine,water and moon to express feelings.Influenced by cultural environment,the farewell poems of Su Zhe absorb the heavy realistic content from the same generation of poets such as of Su Shi,and he likes to comment or express the philosophy in the farewell poems.There are four main types of feelings contained in Su Zhe's farewell pomes: the hard parting feeling when separate fromfriends or relatives,the feelings of bringing people out of the pit of miseryin official farewell poems,seclusion mentality after frustrated official career,constant miss to Sichuan area.Different types of farewell poems have their own artistic charm: the prose-style and argumentative expression,and artistic conception of moderate lifestyle,which makes these poems interesting and thought-provoking.Study on Su's farewell poems contained in the artistic value,can promote the study of Su Zhe poetry of the depth and breadth of.
