A Study On Wang Wei's Farewell Poems

Wang Wei,as an excellent poet of Tang Dynasty,has created about four hundred poems during his life with different content and styles.As for the theme,the study of Wang Wei's pastoral landscape poems has always been the focus of the researchers.The farewell poems are about twenty percent of his poems,though less than pastoral landscape poems,have rich content and unique artistic style.Therefore,it's necessary to classify and study Wang Wei's farewell poems in order to help the whole research of his poems.This paper can be divided into five parts to talk about Wang Wei's farewell poems.The introduction part mainly talks about the reason,significance,literature review,innovation,and the research method.The first chapter mainly analyzes the self development of farewell poems and the factors that having influence to Wang Wei's farewell poems creation.By learning the development of farewell poems and the factors,we could know more clear thoughts about Wang Wei during the different period.The second chapter makes a classified analysis to Wang Wei's farewell poems.His farewell poems can be divided into two types,one is seeing off friends,and the other is seeing off families.And the type of seeing off friends has four categories,sending his friends to their homes,sending his friends to retire from the world,sending his friends to be officials and sending foreign friends to return.The emotion implication in these poems are different,reflecting that the poet has different attitudes in different period during his life.The third chapter mainly explores Wang Wei's life attitude and artistic expression in his farewell poems.He is eager to make a difference in political circle in his early age.His desire becomes stronger after he enters to political circle.Wang Wei's farewell poems reflect his life attitudes in different periods,or to be positive to politic,or to look forward to the retired life.The fourth chapter manly analyzes artistic characteristics of Wang Wei's farewellpoems,and the outstanding characteristics of Wang Wei's farewell poems can be found from three aspects,use of image and creation of artistic conception,musicality in his poems,and literary quotation in his poems.
