| Universities visual identity system design originate from corporate visual identity system,which is based on the school badge, standard fonts, standard color as the core of expandedcomplete visual communication system. It includes all the visual design of an university,which is an important part of the cultural construction of all the universities. It can directlyand effectively to show the image of a school, which has a very strong influence. Then, it canregulate the image on campus systematic design, and promote the culture of the university, itcan also promote a good image of the campus, access to social identity, it follows that makesthe unversitybranding and standardization. And then, teachers and students may enhance thecohesion and solidarity for their school too.Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, has just changed its name at2013, is the only university in Beijing which is major in architecture. At this time, this studyaims to analyse the visual identity system of it, with research, data collection, design andanalysis of visual images, then make a survey of VIS of universities in our country and abroad.The research work will focus on visual recognition of outstanding university systemconstruction cases at home and abroad, eight architecture universities and those domesticprovincial architectural colleges, then summary the design of the pros and cons of them, atlast, this research will pay attention to the Beijing University of Civil Engineering andArchitecture’s VIS construction. It follows that an appropriate visual identification systemsolutions will be draw, with some relevant theoretical knowledge, and a full analysis of thehistorical, cultural and educational purposes of BUCEA.As a primer, the future of our colleges and universities’ VIS design can become more andmore clear, and by exploring the feasibility and advantages of the design, this research mayprovide a big help to the project of VIS construction of all of the university in China. |
