Family triangulation is one of the most important concepts of Bowen’s theory. Itis used to describe how the children involved in parents’ relationship to relax thetension when marital conflict occurred (Bo wen1978). This study revised TheChildrenTs Perception of Interparental Conflict Scale(CPIC),devised by Gyrch andother researchers,aims to provide a suitable tool to other researchers. Using therevised Children’s Perception of Interparental Conflict Scale(CPIC) together withChildren’s Perception of Interparental Experiences in Close Relationship一Revised(ECR-R),Tirangulation Scale in this study. The first research investigates the commoncharacteirstics of university students who are more likely to fall into their parents’relationships. The second research explores the effects that family triangulation playsbetween University students’ perception of interparental conlfict and their adultromantic attachment.The main findings of this study are as follows:(1)Therevised scale of Chinese university students’ perception of interparentalconflict has ifve dimensions, namely: stability, coping efficacy, resolution, copingreaction, intensity and rfequency, the inventory has good validity and reliability.(2)Universitystudents with different gender,grade, family rank, parents’ maritalsituations have significant differences in family tirangulation, students in differentsituations of love relationship have no significant differences in family tirangulation.(3)Universitystudents with different gender, parents1marital status havesignificant differences in family tirangulation,students with different ranks in familyhave no significant differences in perception of interparental conlfict.(4)Thereare signiifcant correlations among university students’ family triangulation and perception of interparental conflict.family triangulation and adultromantic attachment, perception of interparental conflict and adult romantic attachment.Detouring-attacking,detouring-supporlive partly mediate the association betweenuniversity students*perception of interparental conlfict and adult romantic attachment.
