The theory of Media Niche originates from the Evolution of Society and Culture. The fundamental base of it is the two consequences after competition between species:Variation and Selective Retention from Darwin and Lamarck. The subject of Media Ecology is founded upon those testing application of the theory in media industry. The Niche theory provides three pivotal concepts to study the competition between media organization:Breadth, Overlap and Competition Superiority. It actually offers a novel prospective to observe and evaluate the interaction between media and the environment and rather than replacing the classic management theory, it focuses on the comparison between industries and organizations.Recent researches framed by media ecology mainly apply the relevant theory to access competition between organizations like newspapers, or industries like traditional TV and Internet By now we do not have articles or books using the Niche theory towards a certain media product. However if we introspect the entertainment TV show in China, the homogeneity is hindering the diversity development of this industry. This article focus on the following discourses:1) Apply the Niche Theory as a route to media strategy;2) Use the r-K arc to interpret the homogeneity in Chinese musical talent show and to access the environment;3) Analyze the Breadth and Overlap of<The Voice of China> in order to discover the competition superiority and inaugurating direction.According the concept analysis, we found that:1) Chinese musical talent show is on the K-choice part of r-K arc, which denoting this type of TV program is faced with acute environment of tense competition;2) Better performance in cognition satisfaction other than similar shows allows<The Voice of China> a broader breadth. After these analysis, we offer probable advice for the show.
