Mongolian Shaman Music Investigation Research

In the early days of human society, people’s daily activities are full of Shamanism, whichis not only the spiritual core of people, but also a kind of social ideology. As a kind of "lifescience", Shamanism plays a leading role in social life at that time. Close attention has beengiven to Shaman Culture at home and abroad as it becoming a international topic. The HorqinDistrict of Mongolia attracts and arouses many domestic and international scholar’s studyenthusiasm because of its unique cultural connotation of Shaman Culture. From the beginningof the20th century, researchers have focused on Horqin Shaman Culture and have doneresearches from the aspects of religion, anthropology, musicology, folklore, culturology andsociology. Besides its important composing role of Shaman Culture, Shaman art is also ofhigh academic value.Shaman art is different from general art, which is full of mystery, symbolic and implicitnature. The forming of Shaman art is the most obvious entity present, and also the externalimage of Shaman thought and interpretation, which is the condensed material wealth ofShamanistic beliefs from generation to generation. The Shaman music arts and plastic arts ofHorqin Mongolian shaman arts are the arts throughout the whole process of shaman ritualceremony, and they have become precious heritage after successive change.This paper aims to focus on a comprehensive study of stylized Shaman Culture and revealthe basis of the formation with staring from the Shaman sacrifice, regarding the Shaman art asthe basic research object, and using the cultural anthropology, musicology, history, religion,folklore and other disciplines of research method.The first part of the paper makes a brief introduction of the Horqin Mongolian shamanisticbeliefs. The second part presents the result of the study of Horqin Mongolian Shaman art,including the related overview. And then the description are discussed respectively from theaspects of Horqin Mongolian shaman sacrifice acoustic shaman song, dance, instrumental,costumes and god.
