This paper attempts to summarize the similarities and differences of animal symbolism between animal idioms of Chinese and Thai and cultural similarities and differences between these two countries by analyzing and comparing the animal symbolism. So that can help Chinese and Thai learners to better understand the characteristics, rules and culture of Chinese and Thai animal idioms, and better learn the Chinese and Thai idioms to improve the animal symbolizes knowledge of Chinese and Thai which are benefit to intercultural communication.Chapter Ⅰ Introduction. Explaining the reason why choose this topic, research methods and meaning. And outlining the theoretical basis, steps and pathways of the research status and error analysis.Chapter Ⅱ Chinese and Thai. The basic situation of Chinese and Thai animal idioms. Definition of Chinese and Thai animal idioms, idioms source analysis, and comparing Chinese preposition "on","for" and "on" with the corresponding Thai words.Chapter Ⅲ Classification of Chinese and Thai Animal Idioms Content This chapter divides the collected Chinese and Thai idioms into six aspects according to the content.1) Description of appearance and posture.2) Description of mood and character.3) Description of social, family and relationships.4) Description of marriage and relationship between man and woman.5) Description of work and life situation.6) Description of politics and military.Chapter Ⅳ Comparative Analysis of Symbolism in the Chinese and Thai Idioms In the Chinese and Thai animal idioms, there are many roughly same animals to make idioms, which uses the same or similar animals to analogy and express the same or similar meaning.Chapter V Analysis of Chinese and Thai people’s attitudes towards animalsThis chapter mainly analyzes the symbolism of Chinese and Thai animal idioms to look at the Chinese and Thai people’s attitude to animals. From statistics on the frequency of animals appear in the idioms to find out the12animals as representatives whose frequency of occurrence are in the top ten and symbolism are rich. Providing basis of materials choice for the next contents.
