This is a translation report on New York Times, from which I choose And ThenSteve Said,‘Let There Be an iPhone’ as the source text. The source text mainlydiscusses why Jobs said “let there be an iPhone” and how he successfully unveiled itwith the help the Apple. This translation practice has not only improved the author’stranslation ability, but also given her a clear understanding of the surroundinginformation on iPhone.First, this translation report describes the translation task, including the source ofthe translation materials, introduction of the author and the source text. Second, thistranslation report makes a clear representation of the translation process, includingpreparation before translation, difficulties in translation, reviewing and improvingafter translation. Besides, it also lists some typical translation examples and discusseshow to tackle these problems with the help of the lexical and syntactic translationskills so as to make this report convincing. In the end, the report concludes withexperience acquired from this translation practice and the qualities of an eligibletranslator.
