| Surangama Suta,classics of Mahayana Buddhism,its full name is Head Tathagata secretly revised Bodhisattvas ten thousand line of the First Surangama Sutra,also known as Indian Nalanda Sutra, and ti can be called Surangama Sutra, the First Surangama Sutra, the Head Buddha,the Head Surangama Sutra for short. Surangama Sutra has abundant contents and a strict system of ideology,it had extremely profound influence on the evolution of Chinese Buddhism after Song Dynasty.Surangama Sutra was first translated into Chinese by Samana Ban Lamidi in the Tang Dynasty in Zhi Zhi Temple in Guangzhou,then spread to Japan and Korea.It was Included in Kaiyuan Buddhism by Tang Dynasty buddhist bibliographer Zhisheng.From Tang Dynasty to modern times, there were a large number of annotations of Surangama Sutra.After surveying all of the Dunhuang manuscripts which had been published comprehensively and systematically, this paper fond that there were197pieces of Surangama Sutra archives in total, and small amounts of them were incomplete.This paper composesed a catalogue for every one of the manuscripts; renamed two pieces of misnamed segments in photoshop software; in addition,corrected two conjugates which named mistakenly in Guotu catalog.At the same time,after surveying, collecting and arraging the variant forms of a Chinese character in Dunhuang Surangama Sutra manuscripts systematically, comprehensively and deeply in Variant Character database system software.On the one hand, choosed folk characters which worth being researched from these variant forms of a Chinese character to interpret; on the other hand,analysed their properties, arranged tthem in a chart in alphabetical order,totally547folk characters. All these work can offer a more abundant corpus,locate and make up the deficiencies.In addition, It’s good for exploring the origins and the overview of the use of the folk characters, it can also help people to read Dunhuang Surangama Sutra better. |
