| The Mahayana Limitless Life Sutra is one of the Buddhist scriptures classics of Mahayana Buddhism in india, which tells something about The Buddha of Limitless Life give sermons about Dharani and Merit. According to our systematic investigation on the Dunhuang manuscripts which have been published,there are98segments of The Mahayana Limitless Life Sutra collected in the St. petersburg institute of oriental studies of the academy of sciences of russia, National library of China collect699segments,299segments are collected in The British national library, the others are distributed in libraries in dirrerent countries’ library or museum.The body of this paper is divided as two parts,part one includes four chapters:Chapter one is the General situation and research status of The Mahayana Limitless Life Sutra,represting the significance and research methods of this study.Chapter two,we Make a comprehensive resource investigation on the Dunhuang manuscripts about The Mahayana Limitless Life Sutra for the first time, and those manuscripts have been,divided into two systems.Chapter three is about Sutra nominate, there are59segments form volumes after11of Dunhuang Mamuscripts collected in the St. petersburg institute of oriental studies of the academy of sciences of russia have not been named, Mr. Zeng Liang have named four segments, this paper Detailly descriped the remaining54segments.Chapter four is about fragments conjugated.Because there are about720volumes are damaged to different extents,about118framgmentary manuscripts have been conjugated together.
