The Study Of Cultural And Creative Industry Cluster Dynamic

With the deepening of globalization, and the transformation of economic structure, the cultural and creative industries, a new growth point of economic development, has came into being. The earliest development of cultural and creative industries started in some developed countries and foreign scholars began to study it and has formed a relatively systematic theoretical system. However, compared with developed countries, Chinese study of cultural and creative industries is still at a relatively early stage, most of the study limited to the definition, feature analysis, and other aspects of the development model, based on these problems, this paper studies dynamic of cultural and creative industry. In the paper, industrial economics industry cluster theory is selected as a starting point, first I build a theoretical framework for dynamic, namely:life cycle theory and cluster rent theory, followed by theoretical research, putting the theory into practice. Then the main object of study in Chengdu, based on the country and western, researching the dynamic range of the specific problems of its cultural and creative industry cluster. Finally, based on the above analysis, I provide some valuable recommendations for Chengdu’s cultural and creative industry cluster development.Firstly, this thesis sorts out and states some scholars’relevant theories about the industrial cluster theory and industrial cluster dynamic. It sums up the scholars’ research perspectives, research methods and so on. On this basis, the author uses such theories as industrial economics, new economic geography and so on for reference and uses theoretical analysis to analyze some relevant theoretical bases. They include:the discussion of different characteristics that cultural and creative industries in different stages of the life cycle; the understanding of meaning and origin of five kinds of cluster rents; cultural and creative industries chase different cluster rents in the different stages of life periods for gathering momentum. By selecting cluster rent theory which is combined with the life cycle theory, the thesis focuses on different characteristics of cultural and creative industries at different stages of the life cycle.Then, the thesis selects Chengdu as the representative of cluster development of cultural and creative industries in the central region, and makes an overview of the current development of cultural and creative industries in Chengdu. It also analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of the development of cultural and creative industries to determine the life cycle stages of cultural and creative industry cluster of Chengdu.Finally, I study cultural and creative industries in Chengdu cluster dynamic based on its current stage, the thesis, by using case study, provides advices for the further development of Chengdu’s cultural and creative industry cluster.The innovation of this thesis lies in establishing a framework from the perspective of cluster rent to study the cluster dynamic of cultural and creative industries. The thesis combines the life cycle theory of cultural and creative industries to analyze the cluster dynamic mechanism of China’s cultural and creative industry development in different regions.The deficiency of this thesis is that the analysis of the life cycle of the cultural and creative industry is in the static point of view, but in the actual process of the study, the author found that if we combine the cluster rent theory to analyze gathering momentum of the life cycle, the boundaries of each period is not very obvious, the cluster dynamics within a cycle may be the cluster rent, and there may be several cluster rents existing at the same time. Given my limitations and also to simplify the analysis, this thesis only considered different stages of the life cycle of the cultural and creative industry cluster, pursuing one or two c luster rents.
