The war of resistance against Japan is the largest and the only completelyvictorious anti-imperialist patriotic national liberation movement for modernChina, and the arduous war has constructed the most widely identity of theconcept of "Chinese nation". And it also has deeply influenced the Chinesemovie.1932, the last year of Manchurian Incident, China’s Anti-Japanese Warfilms had already appeared, and Chinese Anthem used to be a song from amovie at that time. Now, the Anti-Japanese War movie has more than eightyyears history. More than hundred outstanding films can certify its irreplaceablestatus.21th century is a special historical juncture. When history stepped into thenew century, China’s culture structure become more heavy and complicated,anddifferent values mixed together in the Shared Space. Many strange andmysterious cultural phenomena have appeared.40Anti-Japanese War film hasbeen published in the new century, including many excellence andwell-renowned works. However, films has not been paid due attention byacademic society in the ground of the unguaranteed quality of the films. It’s agreat try to observe films on the perspective of gender. In summary, masculinewomen are not the dominant image of females in new century Anti-JapaneseWar movies. No matter in public sphere or in private sphere, the images offemales are going back to female’s natural characteristics. The appearance ofreality females is a breakthrough of unified gender order, however, the newgender relationship also lead to new gender inequality. The faith to the naturalcharacteristics of women is also a cultural image produced by the new powerstructure of the society. And the deeply secrets is that the quantity can’t obscurethe cultural dilemma. In the interactive process of watching and being watched,many anti-Japanese war movies present the lack of narrative subjects. We paidtoo much attention to other’s sight, which causes the difficult of self-awareness.In the back of this phenomenon, new century’s anti-Japanese war movies are inthe position of recent cultural pattern. The obstacles of the reconstruction ofgender and national narrative are the new power structure created by thediscourse of consumption. And the possible path of the reconstruction is the horizontal political strategy, the attitude of fighting against patriarchy and otherhegemony, and searching for differential expressions.
