This article intends to compare Lao Zhuang’s standpoint of words andmeaning of Chinese Taoist with the contemporaneous Western view in linguistics, andfind the similarities and differences between the dialectical thinking of ancientChinese and western by the view of Lao Zhuang’s standpoint so as to break theregular thought that Chinese ancient thinking is figurative thinking. Also fullyrediscover the logic components in ancient Chinese thinking. The author thinksthat the reflection upon the ideas of Chinese philosophy and art is essential as thehumanistic care to the ancient Chinese civilization is rising nowadays. Not only canit make us have a deeper understanding of the ancient Chinese thinking, but also is itof great significance as the Chinese classical civilization will play a further role.The main part of this paper has three chapters:Through the first chapter, the writer wants to introduce historical and culturalbackground before Qin Dynasty and try to reveal the essential characteristics oflanguages and meaning.Through the second chapter, the writer wants to introduce historical and culturalbackground before ancient Greek and try to reveal Plato and Aristotle’s concept oflanguage and meaning.In order to reveal the similarities and difference, the writer uses parallel study,intends to tap the nature of reasons. For globalization understanding the context ofWestern poetics, it has a very important practical significance.The writer uses the parallel research methods to achieve the "Concept oflanguage and meaning during the Axial Period". The study of language and meaningconcept, previous writings often starts from a certain region, but in my opinion, if wecan learn from a macro point of view, we can get the deeper spiritual.
