With the increasingly frequent communication between China and other countries and the rapid development in science and technology, English for Science and Technology (EST) has reached a brand new level of requirement. EST has its special and distinct characteristics in a wide scale, form lexical to textual, which needs professional strategies in translation process. Thus it requires translators a better and comprehensive understanding of EST, to get familiar with the main technologies involved and to grasp the translation principles and strategies which should be led to a acceptable and accurate translation version. This thesis is based on the author’s own translation experience of EST, with special examples selected from a national blasting product, named digital electronic detonator (EDD) and biologics, which involves about100thousand words. The whole thesis includes five main parts. The first part introduces the translation task, including the text source and requirement of the clients. The second part explains the development of EST and translation aesthetics, which aims at describing features of EST from the aesthetic perspective ranging from lexical to textual with a lot of examples. The third part describes translation processes. The last but second part provides translation techniques in EST translation without losing the aesthetic value. And the last character provides a summary about the whole thesis, hoping that there will be a brighter future for EST translation.
