Research On Ancient Village Image Design

China has a long history and vast land. Our ancestors left us many types of distinctive ancient villages. As a clear record of the development of farming civilization, they contain traditional culture of the region, ethnic customs and the art of architecture, which is a valuable material and spiritual wealth. With the acceleration of China’s urbanization process, a lot of the traditional ancient village with historical and cultural features have been destroyed, and some even with constructive destruction, causing irreparable damage. The ancient village image,as the tangible and intangible value of a comprehensive reflection,has become a Important factor in attracting foreign capital and manpower. It gets more attention and gradually become an important issue of historic preservation, village construction and tourism development. This article is based on image perspective to explore the protection and development of ancient villages.Due to the complexity and pluralistic of ancient village itself, general planning and design more or less involve the content of image, which is lack of systematic refinement and not easy to operate. In this paper, the author tries to draw the principles of CIS(Corporate Identity System) to the ancient village image design in order to better guide the protection and development of ancient villages.First of all, this paper defines the related concepts, analyzes the domestic and foreign related research, then put forward the problem of ancient village introducing CIS. Second, the article constructs the ancient village identity system, including mind identity,behavior identity, visual identity, scene identity and support identity, which is on the basis of analysis of the corporate CIS and summarizes of city introducing CIS experiences.Third, the article proposes the general procedure of ancient village image design.Finally, the article takes Niangziguan ancient village as an example to carry out image design research.
