In recent years, the spring of Chinese documentary is coming, not just the creation ofthe documentary, more is the communication of the documentary. With the arising of new socialmedia, such as Weibo and Wechat, the “micro communication” of documentary has be widelynoted and used, this kind of communication broaden the channels of communication of theminority documentary,also formed a new way of communication at the same time, the current“micro communication” is mainly refers to rely on Weibo and Wechat, and we cannot excludethe possibility of more updated way of "micro communication" will be appear. This articlefocuses on the field of the communication of documentary that lack of attention in the past,present both opportunities and challenges of a new mode of communication to the documentary.This paper argues that, compared with the traditional communication mode of theaters, television,and video website,"micro communication" has two features, connection and information push,it will lead the communication of documentary into a new stage, the spread of documentaryinformation will be more accurate and effective, also provide the possibility for documentary godeep into the general public, the influence of this change is enormous for the communication ofdocumentary, all link of communication, including spreader, receiver, content, channel, andeffect has be changed. But the truth of “micro communication” referred in the article, indicatethe lack of "micro communication" concept and "micro marketing" practical in thedocumentaries industries, remind everybody at the same time, promote the development ofdocumentary industry, both creation and communication, cannot be ignored.
