Resorting to “the scheme of sentiment” as a aesthetic theory by means ofintegrating the very essence of Eastern and Western poetics, critic Li Chang-zhisuccessfully revealed the modern aesthetic value of Qu-Yuan’s works from aestheticpersonality and style, aesthetic emotion and culture since1930s and1940s andlater,however was lost in a methodological dilemma of reluctantly explicatingQu-Yuan’s works from Western aesthetic theory and discourse such as romanticism,realism an so forth with the change of literary and artistic context. Li’s criticism ofQu-yuan’s works plays an important role in twenty century’s literary criticism ofQu-yuan’s works and criticism of modern literature. This article attempts to exploreand depict the gain and loss of Li Chang-zhi’s criticism of Qu-Yuan’s works anddiscuss the reasons of the evolution of cultural psychology and aesthetic ideas of criticreferring to theories such as Mode of Eastern and Western Culture in the light ofcomparative poetics, which may contributes to deepen our understanding ofintercultural research in the context of comparative aesthetic and, consequentlyprovide important theoretical reference and historical experience to promote thecontemporary transition of ancient literary theory....
