Study On Modeling Classification Of Han Dynasty In Yulin

Over four-hundred year of Han dynasty, the society and economy as well as theculture has been boosted dramatically, hence achieved the “Great Han”. One of the mostfamous artifacts—Han Dynasty Stone Relief is well known by the world for its deepculture background. Yulin Stone Relief, in specific, developed from the original Han StoneRelief to an upper level with its own cultural and regional features. It is an artifact thatcombines art with aboriginal features. It reflects unique local customs of Han’s Yulin area.This paper mainly discusses the shaping features of Yulin Stone Relief, with the focuson its original background, shaping categories and influences. Specifically, from theoriginal background perspective, I will discuss Han’s social and economical factors as wellas regional factors; from the shaping categories perspective, I will try to abstract the artisticessences from Yulin Stone Relief and then apply to Yulin souvenir design. My purpose is tohelp inherit and develop our splendid national traditions and customs, also, to help enhanceeconomical and cultural development. I am aiming to show Yulin Stone Relief’s artisticvalue.For writing this paper, I organized many documents regarding Yulin Stone Relief. Forexample, pictures, documents, literature and audio records. I analyzed its shapingcategories and its uniqueness. In this paper, how to properly classify Yulin Stone Relief’sshaping categories is the main point. The main point is divided into three parts. First, I willdiscuss the general situation of Yulin Stone Relief and its formation and origins. Theuniqueness of the Yulin region, society, economy and culture will be considered under theresearch. Second, I will focus on the segmentation and classification of Yulin Stone Relief.It will be analyzed with the combination of culture background to reveal that Yu Lin area isspecial because of the abundant local features. On the basis of this, I will use thetechniques like linear law,2D formation,3D presentation to double check the result. Basedon the documents researched from museums combined with real pictures, I will ensure thevalidity. Last but not least, I will design a series of souvenir based on the research result totry to extend this unique culture, aesthetic meaning and culture connotation.Yulin Stone Relief’s rich volume, beautiful shape and deep culture provide abundantresearch materials for people. Its unique shaping categories offer a valuable way to classify same type of artifacts. Besides, the purpose of this paper is to use Yulin Stone Relief’suniqueness to apply to Yulin souvenir design. This can not only inherit and develop ournational culture and tradition, but also help boost Yulin tourism business.
