| One of the basic properties of language is variability. Language changes with thechange of society. As three elements of language: pronunciation、vocabulary andgrammar, vocabulary changes fastest. With the tendency of urbanization and increasingpopularization of mandarin, kinship terms of juqiao mutate and change at unprecedentedrates. How many kinship terms of juqiao is mutating? How many types of variation canbe divided into? How far has the variation progressed? What is the mechanism andreason of the variation? These are all we need to investigate and study.Commonly used kinship terms of juqiao is divided into three kinds: no variation、the overlapping variation and multiple variation. Based on three large-scalequestionnaire surveys and interviews into the commonly used kinship terms of juqiaodialect, it founds that, among the54direct address kinship terms of juqiao dialect,39%has mutated in different degree in the recent70years,57%of the indirect address hasmutated. We cannot conclude if the overlapping variation is the change in progress orthe age grading right now, it takes time to evaluate all these claims. Among the multiplevariation,We selected the parent kinship terms and couple kinship terms, which arefrequently used and highly stratified, make further investigation and study.Excel2007and SPSS17.0software is used to carry on quantitative researchon parents kinship terms and couple kinship terms in usage and attitude. Analyzedthe effects of age, education level, occupation class, gender and other social factors onthe selection of linguistic variable. It found that, age is the most important social factorin the usage and attitude of kinship terms.The leaders of kinship terms variation ofjuqiao dialect are thosei who are of higher social class and have widesocial interactions.The sociological is to make their way in high quarters and identitytheir status. Kinship terms variation of juqiao dialect is the result of joint action ofsocial causes and social psychological causes. |
