The Comparative Study Of Modern Chinese And Myanmar Kinship Terms

Kinship term is the important issue of language research. It is very enrich in its social contents, usually Kinship is linked with marriage, family, positions, rights, obligations and other contents. And it is a key to explore the mysteries of the national language and national culture. Kinship term is important and indispensable for people. So I thought to do research on Kinship term. In this paper, I pointed out the differences in Kinship terminology and its culture. I hope, through these differences, Chinese and Myanmar students can get a better understanding of Kinship theory and cultures of the two languages. In the paper, I also write about teaching and translation parts of Kinship Terms, hope that can provide a useful reference for Chinese and Myanmar language teaching.I think this paper can be considered as fresh information on the Comparative Study of Chinese and Myanmar Kinship terminology. For Myanmar students, this paper can help to understand and use of kinship term in-depth, and may provide some references in teaching Chinese Kinship Terms.This research paper is divided into four chapters:Chapter1. Introduction:this part briefly discuss about, research carried out by Chinese scholars, as well by Burmese scholars.Chapter2,"The overview of Chinese and Burmese Kinship Terms", this part introduces the relatives lineage and the generalization usage of Kinship Terms which is the important part of social communication in the two languages.Chapter3,"Similarities and differences between Chinese and Myanmar Kinship Terms", this part mainly analyze the Kinship Terms of the two languages through the aspects of characteristics, cultural perspectives, the evolution of the two languages.Chapter4,"The Teaching of Chinese Kinship Terms to Myanmar Students, this part focuses on teaching skills and translation of kinship terms. Conclusion.My research is far from exhaustive, but I hope that through this paper, more people become interested in Kinship Terms and do further study and research. Also hope this effort of me could help promoting cultural exchange of China and Myanmar.
