With the rapid development of city, public space presents the development trend ofdiversification and integration. They use different means of "visual guide" approach,to guide consumers, spread cultures and plays a more and more important role in themodern construction of city.Moreover, in addition to the functions of the "visualguide",such as instructions and specifications, it is more important as a part of thecultural connotation, have a great influence on the style and cultural value of a publicspace.The consumption of public space is an open space,which has the characteristics ofcommercial, ecological and humanistic,and with the reasonable "visual guide" canrealize more commercial value. Commercial value as a part of the market value, in theprocess of growing, also should pay more attention to the sustainable development ofthe "three benefits"--environmental benefit, economic benefit and social benefit at thesame time. It’s not hard to see, the relationship between them are both synchronousclose, so it is very necessary for the research of characteristics of urban public spaceof "visual guide", the relationship with the commercial value,and the balance of thesustainable development of them.The research of this paper mainly aims at the relationship between "visualguide" of the public space and commercial value, the purpose is to better solve theproblem of the sustainable development of urban public space of commercial value.Firstly, based on the guide visual gimmick with public space and the connotation,analyzes the "three features"---commercial space, ecological, humanism, which thedifferent public space in terms of visual guide design mainly focus on, and realizethe"three benefits"---environmental benefit, economic benefit and socialbenefit,which focus of the space business value to improve. Then illustrates themutual connection and one to one correspondence between the two relations, assumethat the relationship between them-rising relations of the double helix, like theappearance of the DNA of the human body, closely linked, mutual promotion;Andcontinuous "hourglass relationship", these two kinds of relations can be continuouslyincrease circulation and sustainable development. Then based on the assumption ofthe double helix relations in using comparative analysis method, focus analysis andexplore on the multidimensional the style of two different typical public street inWuhan city, analyze the merits and demerits of their space design. The mainlyinnovation points of this paper have the specific explanation of the relationship between “visual guide” of public space and the commercial value--double spiralrising relations-"double helix relationship" and "hourglass relationship", therelationship can be match for different types of public space and mutualtransformation,to provide beneficial reference and guidance for the future publicspace,which is going to have diversity and sustainable development.
