The ancient academy education system is the prototype of ancient China’s highereducation. Since Tang to Qing, the ancient academy education system in our countryformed a unique and distinct talent education, training mode and cultural style, whichhad an important influence on the development of personality of scholars and socialculture, and which was regarded as the spiritual home to pursuit knowledge by theancient literati and scholars. In the late Qing Dynasty, instead of the academy system,colleges were set up, which marked the end of the academy system. But the profoundcultural relics, historical implication and the spirit of academy system still shone, andthe academy system had important enlightenment in contemporary higher education.In recent years, along with the reform of higher education and the gradual recoveryof academy education, part of domestic universities have made an active exploration ofsome domestic universities, and have gradually implemented the new talent cultivationmode of academy system. Since then the talent cultivation mode of academy systemquickly comes into our vision. Such as the Chinese university of Hong Kong, Xi’anJiaotong University and Fudan University, as well as Xi’an University of Architectureand Technology which has implemented "academy-college(discipline) system ". Undertalent cultivation mode of academy system, the academic is mainly responsible for thestudents’ general education and informal education. Public art education is an importantpart of general education in common universities, as well as an important way toimplement quality education in common universities and aesthetic education, which plays an important role in promoting the cultivation of students’ quality, and the trainingof innovative and composite talents.Based on fully absorbing of the existing theoretical results, from the perspective of"academy system", this topic takes the public art education of Xi’an University ofArchitecture and Technology under the "academy-college(discipline) system" as theresearch object, describes the revelation of humanistic spirit of the ancient academy onthe contemporary higher education, and studies the academic system in some domesticuniversities, compared with the "academy-college(discipline) system" of Xi’anUniversity of Architecture and Technology; analyzes the effect of"academy-college(discipline) system" under the public art education on college studentsquality cultivation and its unique tension; explores an opportunity for the developmentof public art education under "the academy-college(discipline) system" in the guidanceof new talent cultivation mode of academy system and its new campus planning andconstruction; in the way of questionnaire investigation, interview and comparison,researches the status of the public art education in Xi’an University of Architecture andTechnology, analyzes the obtained achievements and existing problems of public arteducation, and puts forward the recommendations of implementation in theacademy-college(discipline) system" of the public art education; Through the caseanalysis and practice summary of Xi’an University of Architecture and Technologywhich carries out the public art education, the research aims at providing reference forreasonable development of public art education under the new system which combinesthe academic system and the construction and development of quality education inuniversities, and has a theoretical and practical significance in the development ofquality education and the implementation of public art education in universities.In the way of literature review, questionnaire survey, interview, and comparativeanalysis and other methods, this paper adopts a combination of qualitative andquantitative methods to conduct the theoretical and practical study.
