On Exploration Of College Students’ Public Art Education In The New Media Environment

With the development of science and technology and information communication methods, new media has been integrated into all aspects of people’s lives, becoming an indispensible platform in the exchange of information in our daily life. Especially for the groups of college and university students who are liable to accept new things, new media has exerted an wider and profounder influence on them. Massive amounts of information and multicultural communication of network interaction have a profound impact on learning, life and artistic aesthetics among college and university students.Nowadays, it has an increasing requirement for education in this society, and it is also for art education among college and university students. As an important means of cultivating all-round talents with high-quality, arts education is of great importance in improving ideological and morality, cultural cultivation and mental health of college and university students. As an important aspect of liberal education in colleges and universities, public art education has great significance in promoting humanistic quality of college and university students.In the age of new media, traditional art education method still has weak effect and impact on college students while the impact and influence of the emerging new media is inestimable. The art forms and art contents of new media are constantly changing college students’ learning, living and ways of thinking. Therefore it is worthwhile to explore the following questions: How to adapt to the current environment quickly; how to take full advantage of superiority, features and functions of new media; how to put new media technology into use rationally; and how to carry out public art education work in a better way among college and university students.In this paper, the author has expounded the current new media environment in detail. It includes an introduction about the research status of new media at home and abroad, the definition of the relevant concepts of new media, the analysis of the times and environments that public art education is facing among college and university students and the application situation of current new media, the comparison of the bottleneck of traditional media and features of new media, and the discussion about the necessities of new media in public arts education among college and university students and the integration of new media and arts education among college and university students. In the end, it put forward some specific approaches to application and method in education and teaching, and made the good development prospect in the development of new media in public art education among college and university students.In this paper, the author holds the view that there are both impact and opportunity that the new media will bring into arts education among college and university students. With the development of the society, we should take full advantage of the opportunities given by the times to innovate in the methods of art education. In addition, we should use the thought of new media to promote the reform of education and teaching. Furthermore, we should provide new approaches and new perspectives for for more disciplines by further exploration in the public art education among college and university students.
