This is a translation report. The source text of this project is Mind of the Meditator written by Matthieu Ricard, Antoine Lutz and Richard J. Davidson. Exploring three major kinds of meditation, the article mainly and objectively tells that how meditation benefits people from the perspectives of the definition of meditation, brain scanning, stream of consciousness, etc.Combining translation experiences of the translator and typical examples and from the theoretical perspective of Skopos Theory composed of three basic rules, that is, the skopos rule, the coherence rule and the fidelity rule, this report mainly discusses translation criteria of the translation of technical terms, namely “to adopt established translations”, “to create new translations” and “to follow the publishing standard”, and translation techniques for the translation of popular scientific articles, namely sequential translation, inversion, division and addition, for the translation of long sentences, which is aimed at providing some references to popular science translation.
