At present, college English teaching in China still follows traditional teaching patterns and methods. It focuses too much on words memorization and grammar explanation. And this leads to overlooking cultivation of students’ personality development and socializing, while new educational concepts require college English teaching to abide by the principal of individualized quality education and classified guidance to satisfy the needs of individualized teaching. Whether from the angle of educational condition or the change of educational concept, reform is under way. The idea of Learning Community coincides with what we expected our college English teaching to be. This paper does a systematic research on the building of College English Classroom Learning Community from theoretical and empirical level. It brings up three concepts and several specific strategies in building College English Classroom Learning Community, looking forward to providing theoretical and empirical basis for its building.This paper adopts literature research method, observation method and case analysis method. It includes five parts. At first, it adopts the literature method to get the origin and development of Learning Community, and illuminates the features and factors of Classroom Learning Community, as well as the connotation and features of College English Classroom Learning Community. In the next section, this study analyzes the theoretical basis of College English Classroom Learning Community. And on the basis of analyzing problems of college English teaching, it analyzes the necessity of building College English Classroom Learning Community, and use the case analysis method to prove its feasibility and then bring up concepts and strategies in building College English Classroom Learning Community, combing the real teaching situation. At last, according to the previous research achievements, design lesson plans and have them put into practice. The author tests the previous research achievements according to the in-class observation and then perfects the study.At the conclusion part, the author bring ups the main idea that using College English Classroom Learning Community to rebuild college English teaching, in order to inspire students to learn to learn, to learn to do to learn to cooperate, to learn to be. The core of College English Classroom Learning Community lies in promoting students to learn to cooperate, to share, to communicate, to behave and let them to get not only cognitive development but personality and socializing development, and becoming all-round talents with individual liberty.
